Dr. Ryan Godfrey
PT, DPT
Owner/Physical Therapist
I grew up in Upstate NY and played multiple sports since the time I was 4 years old. By high school, I was a three-sport athlete competing in football, basketball, and 800m runner in track & field. I completed my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University at Buffalo in 2009. I am a licensed Physical Therapist specializing in functional rehab, manual therapy, Functional Dry Needling, and performance training. These specialties provide an excellent basis for assessing and treating movement dysfunction to improve pain, quality of life, and athletic performance.
Core Values:
– Community
– Teamwork: Hard work, Accountability, and Trust
– Game Changer: Intrinsic Motivation, Commitment to Excellence
“The harder I work, the luckier I get.”
As owner I guide daily operations for our team and delegate as needed. I track business financials and performance KPIs. I continue to specialize in rehab of runners and weightlifters, and have knowledge and experience in programming and coaching for youth, high school, and collegiate athletes. Some conditions I like to treat are knee pain for runners, low back pain & shoulder pain for weight lifters. Something patients have to deal with that I want to fix is a lack of clarity of their injury and guidance on how to fix it.
I enjoy working here because I like that we play the lead role in projecting our vision to be the Gold Standard in rehab and sports performance for our local community.

Patient Testimonials
“I have been working with Ryan for about 6 months now. His knowledge is invaluable! Competing at a high level really takes a team and Ryan has been a vital part of helping me stay healthy through this season with my heavy training load. I have been to many PTs in the past but the experience at change the game is far from your regular assembly line business. He uses hands on methods like scraping, cupping, manual manipulation and dry needling to alleviate some of the pain but then puts you to work to reinforce good movement patterns in the gym. His practices are what every PT clinic should model and I couldn’t be more pleased to be working with him. I have learned so much from him and have even stolen some of his exercises for my personal training clients. You can really tell he is passionate about what he does and is constantly learning new techniques and exercises to help strengthen and correct injuries. Can’t sing his praises enough!”
“Tendonitis NO MORE! Dr. Godfrey has eliminated the chronic pain that has been debilitating and causing me endless suffering. This is the second time I have relied on Change the Game Performance to help me on my journey to be a “KickAss100YrOld”, which is my why. Reaching out to Change The Game Performance Therapy to streamline my fitness, Ryan provided the tools necessary for me. He asked the correct questions and I walked away with the answers that will allow me to pursue my goals of lifespan, health span, brain span, and longevity. It was a fitness epiphany. With limited time because of busy scheduling, I never want to waste a minute of a workout. Ryan opened my eyes to areas that I simply would never have imagined. I wish I had visited Change The Game Performance Therapy years ago. There would be no telling what my conditioning would be right now if I had. I will continue working with Ryan and making the adjustments necessary to fulfill my goals. Thank you Ryan!
“As an active individual, I’ve had the privilege of being treated by Change The Game for a few years. And that’s only to say that I have not been back for the same injury. Which is a testament to the work done by Change the Game. In this particular case, I had the privilege of being treated by both Dr.’s Grant and Ryan. I’m happy to report that the results provided 100% relief and as always, provided me with tools to prevent injury. I can always count on Change The Game for both acute and chronic injury relief and prevention.”
