Brian Grant

Coach

I grew up in Buffalo, New York where I began playing hockey at the age of 5. From that point on my life revolved around my sport and a commitment to improve. After my sophomore year of high school, I left home to play junior hockey from the age of 16-20 and moved around to many different places for my sport before landing at SUNY Fredonia to earned my degree in Exercise Science. During my final semester of college I began working as a sports performance coach in Buffalo and was fortunate to be learning first hand from high level coaches and professional athletes.

Core Values: Commitment: to be an individual that others can rely on. Improvement: to be a better version of myself today than I was yesterday. Gratitude: to be grateful for the life I have and the people I’m surrounded with.

“The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding”

As I finished my bachelors degree in exercise science, I applied my knowledge of strength and conditioning to enhance the performance of a variety of athletes across several sports and skill levels. Through my education in the classroom and experience in the weight room I’ve learned that the small details of training make a significant impact on the outcomes of competition. My first step as a coach is to teach athletes to move more efficiently and transfer those skills to sport specific strength and conditioning training programs. I’m always striving to expand my knowledge and am currently working to complete my CSCS through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Many athletes and active individuals are unsure of what training strategies are best suited for their goals. I enjoy helping them achieve those goals with well thought out, intentional program design through a clear path of progression.

I specialize in strength / conditioning and biomechanics for enhancing sports performance in competitive athletes and active adults. My wide skill set allows me to confidently work with individuals of all sports and experience levels.

I enjoy and embrace the sense of community and team based mentality that comes with working at the Change The Game. We share a common goal of wanting to help others feel and perform at their best.
