At Change the Game, we help athletes of all ages and levels stay competitive and perform at their best. Through expert rehab, injury prevention, recovery, and performance training, we set the gold standard in care. Guided by our core values, we create a community where hard work, accountability, and excellence drive every athlete towards their full potential.
Our History
2018
Established Change the Game Performance in a 12×15 room at the back of Port City CrossFit. Dr. Ryan began the vision of working with athletes and active populations in Wilmington.
2019
Moved to the Brooklyn Arts District and opened a 1,300 sq ft facility. Expanded the team with experienced strength and conditioning coaches to bridge the gap between PT and sports performance, while adding specialty programs for endurance athletes and golfers.
2023
Expanded into the current facility with increased square footage, delivering the highest level of care and performance training in Wilmington, focused on REAL RESULTS.

Owner / Founder / Physical Therapist
Ryan earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University at Buffalo and founded Change the Game Performance in 2018 with the vision of creating Wilmington’s gold standard for rehab and sports performance. Since then, he has grown the practice from a small start-up to a leading facility that bridges the gap between physical therapy and performance training.
A lifelong athlete and former three-sport competitor, Ryan specializes in functional rehabilitation, manual therapy, Functional Dry Needling, and performance training. He has a passion for helping runners, weightlifters, and youth athletes return stronger after injury and reach their peak potential. Outside the clinic, Ryan enjoys running, weightlifting, hiking in the mountains, and traveling with his wife and their two dogs.
Dr. Grant Bishop

Physical Therapist
Grant earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy and Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from East Carolina University. As a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Medical Professional, he specializes in golf-specific rehabilitation and performance, helping athletes move better, recover from injuries, and improve their game. He is also SFMA Certified, Functional Dry Needling Level 1 Certified, and holds a Golf Biomechanics Level 2 certification under Dr. Kwon. In addition to golfers, Grant works extensively with runners, weightlifters, and patients with vestibular and neurological conditions.
Outside the clinic, Grant enjoys golf, weightlifting, running, and spending time with his family, golden retriever, and church community.
AmberLynn Pappas
MSc, UESCA
Strength & Endurance Coach / Operations Manager
AmberLynn earned her Master of Science in Exercise Science and Sport Administration from East Carolina University after completing her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science at Iowa State University. With more than 20 years of experience across athletics, fitness, rehab, and academic settings, she brings a broad perspective to athlete development. A UESCA-Certified Triathlon Coach with additional training in yoga instruction, she specializes in coaching endurance athletes—including triathletes, runners, and ultrarunners—through both in-person Run Strong classes and individualized virtual coaching.
At Change the Game, she combines her coaching expertise with her role as Operations Manager, supporting daily operations, marketing, events, and the Game Changers Foundation. She is passionate about helping athletes of all levels progress toward their goals while fostering a strong, supportive community. Outside the clinic, AmberLynn enjoys running, cycling, swimming, yoga, and staying active with her family, dogs, and friends.
Brian Grant
Head Strength & Conditioning Coach
Brian grew up in Buffalo, NY, where his lifelong passion for sports began on the ice as a competitive hockey player. He went on to earn a degree in Exercise Science from SUNY Fredonia and began his coaching career at a sports performance facility in Buffalo, applying his academic background to help athletes improve strength, power, and on-field performance. Now a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Brian specializes in strength training and biomechanics for athletes and active adults, with a coaching philosophy grounded in intentional program design and measurable results. He is also pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Performance to further advance his expertise.
At Change the Game, Brian works with athletes across all sports and competitive levels, designing structured training programs that enhance performance and reduce injury risk. He enjoys weightlifting, endurance training, Muay Thai, and hockey, as well as cooking, reading, and spending time outdoors.
Dr. Davis Tucker
PT, DTP
Physical Therapist
Davis earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Winston-Salem State University after completing his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, where he played Division III basketball. He is a licensed physical therapist with experience in treating orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and neurological conditions. He is also certified in dry needling and blood flow restriction therapy, which he integrates into patient care to reduce pain, restore function, and enhance performance.
At Change the Game, Davis specializes in the evaluation and treatment of sports and orthopedic injuries, running injuries, return-to-play rehab, and balance/vestibular conditions. He is passionate about helping patients understand their injuries, improve movement, and return to the activities they love. Outside the clinic, Davis enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, Biggie, as well as hiking, running, strength training, and embracing the hybrid athlete lifestyle.
Anya Turner

Sports Performance Coach
At Change the Game, Anya works with athletes to improve performance, movement, and resilience while drawing on her background in bodywork and recovery. She values authenticity, perseverance, and teamwork, and enjoys being part of CTG’s collaborative culture. Outside the clinic, she stays active through running, beach volleyball, working out, and also loves gardening, traveling, learning new languages, and spending time with friends.
